Boston Globe sportswriter Bob Ryan is suspended for advocating violence against women.

Ryan is suspended for commenting on a sports radio talk show two days earlier that he would like to “smack” Joumana Kidd, wife of New York Nets player Jason Kidd, for trying to be attract attention while attending basketball games. She had previously a victim of domestic abuse by her husband.
